Valentine’s Day Treat Box
This Preschool Valentine’s Day Crafts treat box is made from a small empty cardboard box (an empty medicine box works well) and construction paper. After you preschooler makes this simple Valentine’s Day craft, you can write his/her name on it and fill it with your preschooler’s favorite Valentine’s Day candy. You can also write “Grandma” or “Daddy” on it for your preschooler to give to that special loved one for Valentine’s Day!
Materials You Will Need
Small empty cardboard box
Red construction paper
White construction paper
Blue construction paper
Scotch tape
School glue
Scissors
Hole punch
Magic marker
How to Make It
Step 1:
Cut a strip of construction paper long and wide enough to fit the box. Then wrap the box in the strip of construction paper, making sure the seam is on the back of the box. Tape the seam together.
Step 2:
Cut out a heart shape from the white construction paper and a star shape from the blue construction paper. Glue the shapes onto the front of the box.
Step 3:
With the hole punch, make two holes at the top on the sides of the box to lace the handle through. To make the handle, cut a ¼” strip of blue construction paper and lace through the holes on the box. Tape the ends of the handle down.
Step 4:
Write your preschooler’s or his/her loved one’s name on the box. Fill with Valentine’s Day candies and enjoy!
