Materials You Will Need.jpg)
Small glass jar and lidWhite play dough
Small black beads
Toothpick
Pencil
Super glue
Scrap of holiday fabric
Snowflake sprinkles
How to Make It
Step 1:A day ahead: Roll three small balls from the white play dough. Stack them up into a miniature snowman and stick the toothpick through them to secure the snowman. Stick the black beads into the snowman’s head to create a face. Set aside to dry (about 24 to 48 hours).
Step 2:
Place the jar lid on top of the scrap of holiday fabric. Trace a circle around the lid, leaving a one-inch edge. Cut out the circle.
Step 3:
Squirt super glue around the edge of the jar lid. Cover the lid with the holiday fabric circle, securing the edges with more glue if necessary. Set aside and allow to dry.
Step 4:
When the play dough snowman is dry and hard, squirt a liberal amount of super glue on the bottom. Carefully place the snowman in the center of the jar. Press and hold.
Step 5:
Pour the snowflake sprinkles (plain table salt will also work) liberally into the jar. Secure the lid and give it a shake. Let it snow!
Additional Decorations for the Holiday Snow Shaker
Place glittery snowflake stickers all around the outside of the jar for an added snowy touch. Or use a white paint pen to draw snowflakes or write “Happy Holidays” on the jar.
