Thanksgiving Turkey Tambourine Craft

This unique Preschool Thanksgiving Craft is quite simple and fun to make! When you’re all done, the Thanksgiving Turkey Tambourine makes a creative and musical addition to your Thanksgiving celebration. Preschool teachers can have their preschoolers make this craft as a great Thanksgiving party favor!

Materials You Will Need

2 sturdy paper plates
Red construction paper
School glue
Magic markers
Jingle bells
Colorful craft feathers

How to Make It

Step 1:

Cut a small heart shape from the red construction paper. This will be the turkey caruncle (dangling throat piece).

Step 2:

Place a thick line of glue all around the edge of one of the paper plates.

Step 3:

Place the red felt turkey caruncle into place on the glue with the pointed end facing the center of the plate.

Step 4:

Place the colorful craft feathers all around the top of the plate along the glue line to form the feathered turkey back.

Step 5:

Place a small handful of the jingle bells into the center of the paper plate.

Step 6:

Squirt a line of glue all around the edges of the other paper plate. Place it on top of the one with the feathers and press the edges firmly together. Allow the glue to dry.

Step 7:

Hand your preschooler the magic markers (crayons will also do) and have them decorate the turkey with drawn feathers and a face.
