Preschool Summer Ice Cream Cone Craft
Preschoolers love summer, especially when it involves ice cream cones! You can’t eat this particular treat, but it sure is loads of fun to make. The Preschool Summer Ice Cream Cone Craft is quick, easy, and inexpensive enough to be a perfect preschool craft for parties or preschool groups. Note: For preschool groups, skip the chopped peanuts in case anyone has a peanut allergy.
Materials You Will Need.jpg)
Cotton balls
Brown shiny fabric paint
Red pom-poms
Glue
Paper plate
Ice cream cones (the kind with flat bottoms)
Chopped peanuts (optional)
How to Make It
Pour some glue onto the paper plate. Have your preschooler dip the cotton balls, one by one, into the glue and place them into the ice cream cone. Continue filling the cone until it begins to resemble the shape of a real ice cream scoop.
Step 2:
Drizzle the brown shiny fabric paint all over the top of the cotton ball “ice cream” to resemble hot fudge.
Step 3:
Before the fabric paint dries, sprinkle the chopped peanuts onto the fabric paint “fudge” topping, reminding your preschooler that these peanuts are “just for looks” and not to eat.
Warning: Peanut allergies can be life threatening. Skip this step if you or your preschooler has a peanut allergy!
Step 4:
Place the red pom-pom on the top of the cone to resemble a bright red cherry! Allow to dry before playing with your Preschool Summer Ice Cream Cone Craft. Until then, go out and enjoy some real ice cream!
