July 4th Preschool Hat Craft

Preschoolers of any age can participate in this easy July 4th preschool craft. Using a plain child’s fabric baseball cap (found at any discount department store, dollar shop, or craft store), your preschooler can create his/her own proud display of patriotism! With no specific patterns to follow, this open-ended preschool holiday craft allows your preschooler to exercise creativity while making a great July 4th souvenir!

Materials You Will Need

Red, white, or blue child’s baseball cap
Red, white, and/or blue decorations (sequins, pompoms, fake jewels, etc.)
Permanent fabric glue
Paper plate
Cotton swabs

How to Make It

Step 1:

Squirt some fabric glue onto the paper plate. Give your preschooler a cotton swab and have him/her dip it into the glue, dabbing the glue onto each embellishment (sequin, pompom, fake jewel, etc.), decorating the July 4th Preschool Hat Craft as s/he desires.

Step 2:

Allow to dry. On the day of the big fireworks celebration or Independence Day picnic, let your preschooler proudly wear his/her patriotic hat!

Additional Idea

Complete your preschooler’s Independence Day attire by creating t-shirts, shorts, socks, flip-flops, or any other item of clothing embellished with the same sequins, pompons, fake jewels, etc.
