Back to School Preschool Craft – Iron On Transfer

Let your preschooler give his/her teacher a wonderful homemade back to school teacher gift! With this free printable iron on transfer, you and your preschooler can transform a plain t-shirt or canvas tote bag into a great back to school gift. But don’t limit yourself to printing on heat transfer paper—print the pdf image on regular paper and insert into the cover of a plastic pronged folder or even in a frame!

Materials You Will Need

Printable teacher transfer
Plain t-shirt or canvas tote bag
Iron on heat transfer paper
Iron

How to Make It

Step 1:

Wash and dry the plain t-shirt or canvas tote bag. Iron flat.

Step 2:

Print the teacher transfer onto heat transfer paper. Place the image face down onto the front of the t-shirt or canvas bag. Iron on. When cool, allow your preschooler to carefully remove the backing. (Note: Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions on how long to leave the backing.)

Additional Ideas

Give your back to school teacher t-shirt or canvas bag a textured look and feel by applying puffy fabric paint (brown for the chalkboard frame, pink or blue for the lettering, red for the apple, etc.)
