Halloween Costume Craft – Plate of Spaghetti

Yummy and so silly! Your preschooler will love creating and wearing this hilarious preschool Halloween costume. Made from inexpensive and recycled materials, this preschool Halloween costume craft is easy on the budget and deliciously fun to make.

Materials You Will Need

White poster board – 2 pieces
Beige yarn
Red poster paint
Paint brush
Yellow felt square
Scissors
School glue
Magic markers
Aluminum foil
Stapler
Ribbon or long scrap of cloth

How to Make It

Step 1:

Cut out a large circle from one of the pieces of poster board. This will be your preschooler’s “plate” for the Halloween costume.

Step 2:

Have your preschooler decorate the edges of the cardboard “plate” with the magic markers.

Step 3:

Squirt glue all around the center of the “plate”. Pile a bunch of the beige yarn onto the glue to resemble the spaghetti. Allow the glue to dry.

Step 4:

Using the paintbrush, cover the “spaghetti” with the red poster paint to resemble the spaghetti sauce. Allow to dry.

Step 5:

Cut strips from the yellow felt square. Glue the strips on top of the “spaghetti” and “sauce” to resemble grated cheese. Allow the glue to dry.

Step 6:

Draw a large knife and fork on the other piece of poster board. Cut out and cover with aluminum foil. Staple the large knife and fork to the “plate”.

Step 7:

Staple the ribbon or long scrap of cloth to the “plate of spaghetti” to hang around your preschooler’s neck. Enjoy watching your preschooler giggle with delight at becoming a walking plate of spaghetti!

Suggested Halloween Costume Accessories

Have your preschooler wear a red shirt and red pants underneath and a silly “afro” wig to resemble a big meatball!
