Preschool Scarecrow Craft
An autumn favorite, scarecrows are always fun for preschoolers to make. This quick and easy Preschool Scarecrow Craft uses a toilet paper roll for its base, decorated with plaid gift wrap or scrapbooking paper (fabric will work too), yarn hair, and our special scarecrow free printable patterns. You might not have any crows around to scare, but this scarecrow will definitely make a cute addition to your autumn décor.

Toilet paper rollPlaid paper (or fabric)
Yellow yarn
Scissors
Glue

How to Make It
Step 1:Print off the free scarecrow printable patterns (pdf). Cut out the scarecrow face, black hat and pumpkin.
Step 2:
Wrap plaid paper (or fabric) around the toilet paper roll. Glue into place.
Step 3:
Cut out two long (about 4 inch) rectangles from the plaid paper (or fabric) to resemble the scarecrow’s arms.
Step 4:
Cut small strips of yellow yarn to resemble the scarecrow’s hair and straw hands.
Step 5:
Glue some of the yarn onto the top of the scarecrow’s face. Glue bits of the yarn to the end of each arm.
Step 6:
Glue the black hat onto the scarecrow’s face, covering part of the hair. Glue the scarecrow’s head onto the top of the scarecrow’s body (the toilet paper roll).
Step 7:
Glue the pumpkin onto the center of the scarecrow’s body.
Step 8:
Glue the arms onto the scarecrow’s body, wrapping them around to look like they’re holding the pumpkin. Glue the hands into place on the pumpkin. Allow the glue to dry and then display along with your preschooler’s other autumn crafts! Happy Autumn!
