Autumn Wreath Preschool Classroom Craft
By Joanna Young
Preschool teachers can get all their preschoolers involved in this fun and easy autumn craft! Begin by sending home the free printable autumn leaf template (instructions are included on the print-out). Instruct each preschooler to cut out the fall leaf shape at home, trace it onto a piece of old clothing or fabric scrap (with their parents help), cut out the fabric leaf, and bring it back to school. Although this autumn wreath craft is perfect for the preschool classroom, your preschooler at home can also make it himself.
Materials You Will Need
Large mixing bowl
Medium mixing bowl
Piece of cardboard
Old clothing or fabric scraps
Scissors
Glue
Permanent marker
Free printable autumn leaf template (pdf)
How to Make It
Step 1:
Place the medium mixing bowl in the center of the cardboard. Trace the outline of the bowl. Then place the large mixing bowl exactly around the circle you just made and trace the outline of the large bowl. This will leave a large ring you can cut out for the wreath base.
Step 2:
Preschool teachers: Print out the free printable autumn leaf template (pdf) flyer and send it home with each preschooler so they can cut out their fabric leaves according to the instructions on the flyer.
Step 3:
After the fabric leaves have been cut out and returned to school, teachers can print each preschooler’s name on their leaf with the permanent marker.
Step 4:
Have each preschooler glue their fabric leaf to the cardboard wreath base. Allow the glue to dry and hang on the door for everyone to admire this fall!
