Gifts for Grandma Preschool Crafts
Grandparents Day is just around the corner (September 9th) and what better way for your preschooler to say “I love you, Grandma” than with a handmade gift? These preschool holiday crafts give your preschooler the opportunity to create some wonderful Grandparents Day crafts that Grandma will be sure to cherish for years to come.
Think Pink
Pink roses symbolize appreciation and who deserves appreciation more than Grandma? Instead of the traditional bud vase, help your preschooler make this lovely homemade rose container. Smear white school glue all over the outside of a clear plastic water bottle. Tear bits of pretty printed tissue paper and place them all over the bottle. With a paintbrush, paint a mixture of half water, half glue over the entire bottle. Allow to dry, fill with water, and place a half dozen beautiful pink roses in it for Grandma!Super Slippers
Purchase an inexpensive pair of slippers for Grandma for your preschooler to decorate. Using permanent fabric glue, help your preschooler glue sequins, pompoms, ribbons, or any pretty little items to the slippers. Allow the glue to dry and wrap in a lovely shoebox. Beautiful Bookmark
Cut a 2x7" strip of card stock or sturdy paper. Hand your preschooler some markers or crayons and have him/her decorate the bookmark for Grandma. If possible, laminate the bookmark for better keeping. Punch a hole at one end with a hole punch, and then string pretty ribbon or yarn through the hole for a tassel. Magnificent Magnet
Inconspicuously take a photo of your preschooler with Grandma. Print the photo, cut it out, and laminate it if possible. Glue a piece of craft magnet to the back with tacky glue or hot glue. Glue a “frame” of ribbon or fancy yarn around the photo magnet and give to Grandma to hold all those pictures drawn by her favorite preschooler!Colorful Keychain
With wire pliers, cut and bend a metal coat hanger into the shape of a heart. Tie the end of a long piece of pretty ribbon or fluffy yarn to the heart. Have your preschooler continuously wrap the ribbon or yarn around and around the wire heart, covering it completely. Tie or glue the remaining end onto the heart keychain. Place an inexpensive key ring onto the wire heart for a lovely keychain for Grandma!Tell Us Your Ideas
