Terra Cotta Pot Holiday Bell

Miniatures are great for embellishing many holiday crafts, especially this creative terra cotta holiday bell. This preschool holiday craft makes great use of adorable holiday miniatures found in your local craft store. Although your preschooler might need a little help stringing the bead, most of this project is simple enough for young preschoolers.

Materials You Will Need

3" terra cotta pot
Green acrylic craft paint
White acrylic craft paint
4" piece of yarn
1/2" glass bead
Tacky glue
Multi-colored sequins
Miniature foil gift boxes
Miniature angel tree topper

How to Make It

Step 1:

Paint the outside of the terra cotta pot with the green craft paint. Paint the rim with the white craft paint. Allow to dry.

Step 2:

Tie the glass bead to one end of the yarn. String it up through the hole in the terra cotta pot, allowing the bead to dangle about 3/4 from the top. Glue the loose end into place on the top of the terra cotta pot. Don't worry about being messy; the miniature angel will cover it up.

Caution: Small items like beads pose a choking hazard for young preschoolers.

Step 3:

Glue the miniature angel tree topper to the top of the terra cotta bell.

Step 4:

Glue the sequins around the sides of the terra cotta bell to look like ornaments.

Hint: Your preschooler might find it easier to dip a cotton swab into the glue, using the swab to apply the sequins to the bell.

Step 5:

Glue the miniature foil gift boxes all around the edges of the white rim.

Step 6:

Allow the terra cotta pot holiday bell to dry before displaying among your preschooler's other holiday crafts.
